Renovations, Handyman, and Lawn Service – Terms and Conditions

1. Quotes are subject to change if/when:

1.1. Accessing areas not visible during the quote and requires additional hours or materials.
1.2. Based on engineering requirements and city building department approval of permit drawings. City review notes and engineering changes may affect pricing.
1.3. If there are any upgrades to finishes requested by the client.

Note: Changes to the quote will affect the timeline and delivery of the job. Time of labor is calculated in business days, not calendar days.

2. Operational Costs

Includes, but not limited to:

  • Business operations
  • Marketing
  • Insurance (CGL, AUTO, WSIB)
  • Online presence


3. Cancellation or Termination

a. Maintenance Service (Lawn)

  • Cancellation within 48 hours will incur a $47 fee.

b. Renovation/Construction Projects

  • Cancellation to be enforced from the following phase.
  • A mutual release must be signed (wet ink or electronically).
  • 60 days notice required.


4. Weather Impact and Delays

4.1. Inclement weather can delay scheduled appointments.
OGR shall not be held liable for delays in appointments caused by:

  • Unsafe environments
  • Machinery damage
  • Slowed project progress

4.2. If a project has started, delays may result in additional costs to the final invoice (especially for projects with heavy machinery, bins, contractors, subcontractors, or specialized equipment).

4.3. Clients will be notified as soon as possible if weather conditions cause a delay or cancellation.

Weather Condition Guidelines:

  • Up to 3mm precipitation:
  • Most services can proceed
  • 30% addendum in cost may apply
  • 3mm – 5mm precipitation:
  • May delay or cancel depending on service
  • 30% addendum in cost may apply
  • More than 5mm precipitation:
  • Appointment will be rescheduled
  • Heat warning/severe heat:
  • Appointment will be rescheduled

4.4. Normal seasonal weather, unless extreme or extraordinary, is not grounds for time extensions.


5. Payment Terms and Conditions

5.1. Deposits confirm service(s) and order materials.
5.2. Deposits are non-refundable.
5.3. All services must be paid in full upon completion.

5.3.1. Credit Accounts

  • Subject to approval
  • Net 30 or Net 60 payment terms

5.4. Late Payments

  • Payments after 10 business days: $75 late fee
  • Continued non-payment: $100/month late fee


5.5. Project Payment Plans

5.5.1. Projects Estimated Less Than a Week

  • 50% deposit
  • 50% upon completion
If job is delayed due to work-related reasons:
  • 45% of invoice by end of day 5
  • 5% of invoice by job completion

5.5.2. Projects Estimated More Than a Week

  • 30% deposit
  • Payment schedule:
  • 30% by end of Day NA
  • 25% by end of Day NA
  • 25% upon completion
  • If delayed due to work:
  • 20% by end of Day NA
  • 5% by job completion


5.6. Credit Card Payments

  • Subject to an additional 3% processing fee


5.7. Accepted Payment Methods


6. Promotion

Client authorizes Outdoor Guys and Renovations to:

  • Take photographs/videos of the property
  • Use them for promotional purposes
  • Retain sole intellectual property rights to the media


7. Warranty – Workmanship

OGR warrants that:

  • All work is performed in a good and workmanlike manner
  • Workers are appropriately trained and experienced
  • All applicable codes, safety standards, and contract documents will be followed


8. Materials

Warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by:

  • Abuse
  • Unauthorized modifications
  • Improper/insufficient maintenance
  • Improper operation
  • Normal wear and tear



9. Utilities

During the project, client agrees to provide at no cost:

  • Ground floor access
  • Loading docks
  • Parking
  • Electricity
  • Cold water
  • HVAC service
Note: OGR will dispose of garbage and debris in an allocated on-site bin.

10. Afterhours Services

  • Services performed outside standard business hours may incur a 30% surcharge ("SOS" surcharge)

Afterhours include:

  • Sundays, Mondays, Fridays
  • Before 8:00 AM or after 6:00 PM on any workday
